Bio.

Joe Breen is a high school English teacher, playwright, and graduate student based in Montclair, New Jersey. Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in English at Morehead State University, his recent research centers on 19th-century American literature, cultural memory, and the construction of national identity through literary revision and erasure. As a playwright, Joe’s work has been seen at New York’s Cherry Lane Theatre, The Wild Project, and at The Boston Center for the Arts. He is a past finalist for the Princess Grace Playwriting Fellowship and a recipient of multiple festival awards for his play, “All My Love, Kate”. A passionate advocate for arts education, he was a featured speaker at the 2018 American Educational Studies Association Conference in Toronto, discussing the importance of Art in Public Education. A happy homebody, Joe lives with his partner and their Brussels Griffon, Agnes.
